Underdog & Me

I have been good friends with the Iglay's, Russ and Dean for 30 years. I remember when we opened Zodiac in 1981 in the Belmar Plaza this scrawny 15 year old came in with his little brother to check out our skate gear. We quickly became friends. I spent many trips taking the crew out to the ramp in Wall to skate and take photos. During the 80's we had an incredible time, with most of the best skaters in the US hanging out with us. There were too many good times!

When Underdog was founded I naturally attended their shows......... I especially remember going to see them at CBGB's in NY. Wow, what an adventure!

It was really great when they got back together again a few years ago. Every year when I was planning on the Belmar Pro, I thought to myself, how cool would it be to have Underdog play on the beach. But the potential ramifications always scared me away.

This year, being the 10th Anniversary, I talked to Russ and said, :This is the 10th Anniversary of the Belmar Pro. With you guys being from Belmar, it would be a shame if you never got to play for the contest." We thought about it and came up with the Official Fosters Belmar Pro/Underdog party......... Underdog together with Murphy's Law and Huge will play at Paul's on Saturday September 14th. It's a fitting tribute to Underdog and the Belmar Pro. I sure hope  Belmar is ready!!!!!!!
